Welcome to 2021 and my new knitting adventure!! This is mostly an introductory post so that you can get to know me a bit. I’m LaceMistress and I simply love to knit lace. I currently have a large number of WIPs that I’m planning to share with you soon but I also look forward to sharing some things that I find interesting and I hope that you will too.
My goal for this blog is mostly to share my knitting and the process that I go through while knitting. However, I’m also planning on doing some research on lace knitting—the history, different types, techniques, why things work or don’t, etc. This is for my own personal curiosity but if one person learns something and enjoys it, I’ll be happy.
Today I’ll share a WIP that I have going. You will soon realize that I’m a huge fan of Herbert Niebling and have not only big plans but quite a few projects already going. This particular one is inspired by Niebling, it’s the Daisy shawl by Hayley Tsang-Sather. At this point, it's almost complete. I'm binding it off and very excited to share it with you in the next post.
I would also like to share a swatch I've made. It is for the SugarPlum Fairy shawl by Andrea Jurgrau. I absolutely adore her work and plan to knit the shawl over the course of 2021. I won't be using this yarn because the thick and thin nature of the yarn doesn't work for me. However, I still enjoy the swatch and want to show that swatching for lace is still important.
Ok, well, I had planned more for my first post but honestly, I needed to just publish it. I have so many plans and ideas and they were all fighting for in my brain for the first post "honors", so to speak. I realize that there isn't much here, but hopefully that will change soon. Until next time, knit that extra row.
Awesome babe sooooo proud of you on your first blog !!!!!
